A memorial service for Mardath M. "Mardy" Smith, 73, of Yerington will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home in Yerington, with the Rev. Tom Chism officiating.
Mrs. Smith died March 17, 2003, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Reno. She was an orphan and had lived with many different families during her childhood, but was never officially adopted.
She married Fred R. Smith on March 15, 1952.
Among her survivors are her husband of 51 years; son, Cary R. "Rick" Smith; stepsons Larry Smith and Ted R. Smith; stepdaughter, Leta Kaye Baler; and grandchildren Cariann and Cary R. Smith.
Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
