Obituary: Helen Sheppard

A memorial service for Helen Sheppard, 102, a Carson City area resident for the past 10 years, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hilltop Community Church.

Mrs. Sheppard died April 29, 2003, at the Life Care Center in Reno. She was born July 31, 1900, in Windsor, N.Y., to Harvey and Annie Wright.

She married Charles Sheppard in 1920 in Trenton, N.J. He preceded her in death.

After the death of her husband, she and her son moved to California, where she lived until 1992.

Mrs. Sheppard was a homemaker and kept a boarding house. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and church missionary circles. She was a member of the Baptist church.

Among her survivors are her son, David of Carson City; grandchildren John, James and Philip Sheppard; and six great-grandchildren.

Interment will be in Cleveland.
