A memorial service for Dorothy C. Hoffmaster, 85, a Carson City resident for the past 12 years, will be at 2 p.m. today at the First Presbyterian Church in Carson City with the Rev. Bruce Kochsmeier officiating.

Mrs. Hoffmaster died Nov. 14, 2003, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. She was born March 17, 1918, in Iowa to William and Edith Aler Ellison.

She married Lee Hoffmaster March 7, 1936, in Santa Ana. He preceded her in death on Nov. 14, 2001.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Olive, Calif.

Mrs. Hoffmaster was a homemaker and also worked in the medical industry. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

She loved reading, sewing, the beach and her family.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Ellison.

Among her survivors are her daughters Jerri Biddle of Carson City and Coralee Johnson of Cerritos, Calif.; sisters Vera Dupler of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Norene Boat of Mount Vernon, Iowa; and grandchildren Jolee Tristao, Erik and Scott Biddle and great-grandchildren Sierra Biddle and Dalan Tristao, all of Carson City.

Capitol City Cremation & Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
