Man sought after shed meth lab found

A Douglas County man is wanted by Lyon County police for allegedly cooking methamphetamine in a Wellington storage shed.

A warrant for the arrest of Kristopher Les has been issued by the Lyon County District Attorney's Office charging Les with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of chemicals for manufacturing meth, grand larceny and burglary.

On Oct. 8, a storage shed leased to Les at the Lazy W Ranch in the rural farming community of Wellington was searched by Lyon County authorities after a patrol officer said he could smell chemicals, said Lt. Robert Sherlock.

Inside, Sherlock said, investigators found a complete lab for manufacturing methamphetamine, a small quantity of the product and about $5,300 in goods stolen from the ranch.

Les was not at the shed when the investigators searched, but was stopped by a Douglas County deputy the following morning as a passenger in a car, according to the investigator.

During the traffic stop, Les allegedly ran from the vehicle and was able to elude officers, Sherlock said.

He said Les has an extensive criminal history, including arrests for drugs and theft. He has also spent time in prison.

Les is described as 6-feet tall, 190 pounds, with a thin to medium build, brown hair, brown eyes, and a thick mustache that covers his entire mouth.
