SILVER SPRINGS -- Lyon County investigators have requested a warrant be issued against a Carson City man in custody on suspicion of sexual assault.

According the Detective Cherie Rye of the Lyon County Sheriff's Department, Timothy Foreman, 37, is believed to have committed at least two acts of sexual assault against a 9-year-old girl in Fernley.

"Based on the interviews conducted by the Carson City Sheriff's Department, we've got all our facts and all our details on the offenses here," Rye said. "We've requested a warrant from the DA."

Foreman is being held in the Carson City Jail on suspicion of four counts of felony sexual assault on a child under 14 years of age.

When the victim's family confronted Foreman with the accusations Sept.14, he allegedly fled the area, failing to report for work the following day.

Sept. 15 police issued a statement saying Foreman was wanted for questioning.

Accompanied by his attorney, Foreman turned himself in to the Carson City Sheriff's Department Sept. 19.

A Carson City judge Monday denied a reduction of Foreman's bail. He remains in the Carson City Jail on $250,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing on the Carson City charges is Oct. 13.
