Free ice cream in honor of UConn

University of Connecticut alumnus Greg Hoch is so happy that he's going to share his joy with everyone who comes into his restaurant today.

Hoch, who owns Sierra Glen Restaurant and Tahoe Creamery on Carson Street, will provide a free double scoop ice cream cone to all his customers today. The free ice cream is in honor of UConn's two national championships - the Huskies men's basketball team won the title on Monday and the women's team won the crown on Tuesday. UConn became the first school in history to win national titles in men's and women's basketball in the same year.

A free cone with one scoop of blueberry and one scoop of vanilla - in honor of UConn's colors - will be offered. Hoch said the free cones are also in honor of the University of Nevada men's basketball team, which advanced to the Sweet 16.
