A graveside service for Ralph L. Crandall, 85, a Carson City resident for the past 32 years, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Walton's Carson Gardens, following viewing at 10 a.m.
Mr. Crandall died April 19, 2004, in Carson City. He was born July 20, 1918, in Valley City, N.D., to Melvin M. and Dorothy B. Field Crandall.
He graduated from high school in North Dakota.
He married Alice Bowers July 3, 1938.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Portland, Ore., for many years.
Mr. Crandall was a truck driver. He later owned and operated a used-car, auto repair and U-Haul business in Carson City. He was a former member of the Elks and Eagles lodges in Portland and Carson City.
He was preceded in death by his wife on April 1, 2003; and daughter in 1977.
Among his survivors are his sons and daughters-in-law Dale and Linda of Port Orchard, Wash., and Robert and Rose Crandall of Idaho; daughter Sandra Boyd of Idaho; daughter and son-in-law Janice and Leroy Glahn of Carson City; sister, Joyce High of Portland; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Walton's Carson Gardens Cemetery. Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
