A funeral Mass for Joseph M. Giraud, 77, a Yerington resident for the past 30 years, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Holy Family Catholic Church, 37 North West St., Yerington.
A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home in Yerington.
Mr. Giraud died July 31, 2004, at Life Care Center of Reno. He was born Jan. 3, 1927, in Los Angeles to Joseph and Jeanne Giraud.
After graduation from high school, he entered the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. After his discharge, he was a bookkeeper for 50 years in Southern California.
He moved to Yerington in 1974. With his wife, brother and sister, he established the 4-G corporation ranch, raising cattle and sheep. He loved to fish and hunt deer with his brother.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Charlaine Dec. 24, 1983.
Among his survivors are his brother Louis and sister Marie of Yerington.
Burial will be in the family plot at Calvary Cemetery in Los Angeles.
