Memorial services for Claire Elizabeth Christensen a 13-year resident of Carson City will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Christensen died Aug. 14, 2004, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital after a brief illness. She was born April 23, 1921, in Franklin, Mass., to Edward and Florence Ober Landry. She was 83.
Prior to living in Carson City Mrs. Christensen lived for 15 years in San Diego and before that for 25 years in Albuquerque, N.M. Before moving to New Mexico she lived in Hudson, N.Y.
Mrs. Christensen worked for the former Atomic Energy Commission in Albuquerque and a the U.S. Naval Hospital in San Diego.
She volunteered for the veterans hospital in Albuquerque and for the Make-a-Wish Foundation of Northern Nevada while in Carson City.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Lois Martinez in 1977.
Among her survivors are her husband, Robert, of Carson City; sons Rusty of Medway, Mass., and John of Auburn, Wash.; daughters Karen Huff of Albuquerque, JoAnn Stoehr of Portland, Ore., and Jean Christensen of Los Angeles.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory. FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
