Thomas John "Fred," "Junie" Fredericks Jr., 57, of Carson City died Aug. 17, 2004, in Reno.

He was born Oct., 31, 1946, in Smith Valley to Thomas J. Sr. and Irene Ruby Dick Fredericks. He was the grandson of Washoe and Minnie Jim Dick and John F. and Ida Fredericks and the great-grandson of Ebke and Mary Moline Fredericks, who settled in Sweetwater in 1860.

He attended Smith Valley schools and graduated from Smith Valley High School in 1964.

Mr. Fredericks played Little League baseball and participated in a 4-H livestock project one year. As a young man, he enjoyed hunting and fishing in the Sweetwater area with his parents. He looked forward to Street Vibrations so he could check out the Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Angela.

Among his survivors are his sons John of Kernville, Calif., and Jerome of Bishop, Calif.; sister, Darlene of Carson City; brother, M.C. Crawford of Bridgeport; one grandchild; aunt, Ethel Schmid of Yerington; and many cousins.

A memorial service and dinner will be at a later date in Smith Valley. Visitation was held Aug. 20.

Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
