A funeral for William Mark "Bill" Thomas, 49, a Gardnerville resident for the past 14 years, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Dayspring Christian Assembly, 974 Tillman Lane, Gardnerville.

Mr. Thomas died Dec. 2, 2004, in Gardnerville.

He was born May 24, 1955, in Burbank, Calif., to William R. and Jean Larson Thomas.

He married Diana Hampton Sept. 21, 1980, in Burbank.

Before moving to Gardnerville, he lived in Burbank.

Mr. Thomas was a member of the Elks Lodge of Gardnerville, the Citizens Patrol of the Douglas County Sheriff and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post of Burbank.

Mr. Thomas enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting and camping, people and the St. Louis Rams.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Among his survivors are his wife of Gardnerville; son and daughter-in-law Billy and Ashley of Gardnerville; son Bobby of Reno; daughter and son-in-law Luwana and Mario Ferguson of Van Nuys, Calif.; daughter Rebecca Thomas of South Lake Tahoe; father of South Lake Tahoe; brother, Bob Elliott of Portland, Ore.; sister, Dawn Elliott of Anaheim, Calif.; grandchildren Daniel Ferguson, Ivy Rose Barkdoll and Amber Evelyn Barkdoll; and niece Janie Mandell.

Burial will be in the Happy Homestead Cemetery at South Lake Tahoe.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
