A memorial service for Peter John Spomer II, 68, a Carson City resident for the past 25 years, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.
Mr. Spomer died Jan. 26, 2004, in Carson City. He was born Aug. 3, 1935, in Denver to Peter John and Thelma Pauline Johnson Spomer.
He attended Northern Colorado University for two years as a music major. He also studied under Joseph Leavitte, Dr. William S. Hart and Ed Metsinger.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Sparks and Stateline.
Mr. Spomer was a professional percussionist who played for most of his career in Carson City, Lake Tahoe and Reno. He was a member of the American Federation of Musicians.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and played in the All-Army Band.
Among his survivors are his brothers George Guy of Pullman, Wash., Louis Arthur of Urbana, Ill., and William Roy of Atascadero, Calif.
Cremation will be at Walton's Crematory, and inurnment will be in the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
