Ruth Evelyn Kolbe, 86, a Gardnerville resident for the past 15 years, died Feb. 6, 2004, at her home. She was born May 8, 1917, in Bobells, N.D., to Ernest and Tilda Elfstrem, the youngest of 11 children.
She graduated from nursing school in Minnesota.
Before moving to Gardnerville, she lived in Sausalito and Woodacre, Calif.
She was married to Albert Kolbe for 49 years. He preceded her in death in March 1991.
Mrs. Kolbe retired after 50 years as a registered nurse.
Among her survivors are sisters Tillie Schoffman and Grace Sandren of Minnesota; children Ernest and wife Auralee, Thomas, William of Gardnerville and Katherine and husband Peter Rogney of Genoa; grandchildren Travis Kolbe of San Angelo, Texas, Justin and Josh Kolbe of Reno, Christian Kolbe of Gardnerville, Graham Rogney of Eldorado Hills, Calif., Tyler Rogney of Genoa, Tillie Rogney of San Francisco, Maja Rogney of Genoa, Knox Justin Kolbe of Hugoton, Kan., Drew Kolbe of Gardnerville, and Elliott Kolbe of Seattle; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.
Walton's Douglas County Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
