A4 crimes 2/21/04

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty:

- A 24-year-old, unemployed woman from St. Anthony, Idaho, was arrested at 2:50 p.m. Friday in the 2500 block of Sherman Lane on a misdemeanor warrant out of Carson for failure to appear in court. A cash-only bail was set at $195.

- A 24-year-old, unemployed Carson City man was arrested at 6:04 p.m. Friday on the corner of Corbett and Roop streets on a misdemeanor warrant out of Carson City for simple battery. Bail was set at $1,000.

- A 24-year-old transient of unknown employment was arrested at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the 2500 block of North Carson Street on suspicion of misdemeanor disorderly conduct. Bail was set at $247.

- Macario Ortiz Jr., a 20-year-old Carson City construction worker, was arrested at 2:03 a.m. Saturday in the 500 block of West College Parkway on a felony warrant out of Washoe County for failure to appear in court and on suspicion of misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Bail was set at $5,732.

- A 25-year-old Carson City painter was arrested at 4:37 a.m. Saturday in the 500 block of North Carson Street on suspicion of misdemeanor disorderly conduct. Bail was set at $247.

- A 36-year-old, unemployed Carson City woman was arrested at 11:42 p.m. Friday on the corner of Sunrise and August drives on suspicion of basic speed violation, failure to obey a traffic control device, first-offense driving under the influence and driving on a revoked license. Bail was set at $2,060.

n Deputies responded to the following calls:

- A 14-year-old girl went for a walk and had not returned by 1 a.m. Saturday. She was found at a friend's house.

- A coroner was called to the 1000 block of East Fifth Street at 8:19 a.m. Saturday. A man had apparently died of natural causes.

- A motion-sensing alarm went off at 6:48 a.m. Friday in the 4000 block of South Carson Street. A window was found open and money was missing from inside the Taco Bell.

- A driver's license was found at 7:49 a.m. in the 3500 block of Woodside Drive.

- A man was detained at the Scolari's in the 2100 block of Highway 50 East at 5:09 p.m. Friday for shoplifting.
