A memorial Mass for James Francis Walsh, 54, a Gardnerville resident for the past 16 years, will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville.
A celebration of life will be at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Dayton Valley Golf Course.
Mr. Walsh died Feb. 18, 2004, in Gardnerville. He was born June 21, 1949, to Octavie and Charles Walsh in Worcester, Mass.
He attended North High School in Worcester from 1963-67 where he was all-city defensive tackle and California State University at Sacramento from 1968-72.
He married Cheryl Walsh July 1, 1972, in Nezperce, Idaho.
Mr. Walsh was the bar manager at Dayton Valley Golf Course. He attended St. Gall.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1984.
Among his survivors are his wife of Nezperce; daughter, Megan Walsh and son, Nate Walsh, both of Gardnerville; mother of Aptos, Calif.; sisters Charlene Celio of Cupertino, Calif., and Eileen Buron of Aptos; brothers Charles of San Ramon, Calif., Stephen of Ripon, Calif., Michael of Watsonia, Victoria, Australia, John of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Francis of Aptos; 19 nieces and nephews and two great-nieces and great-nephews.

Walton's Sierra Crematory in Carson City and Walton's Douglas County Mortuary are in charge of arrangements.
