There will be an inurnment service for Samuel J. Serio, 87, a Carson City resident for the past 30 years and former South Lake Tahoe resident, at 11 a.m. Saturday at Eastside Memorial Park in Minden.
Mr. Serio died Jan. 28, 2004, at his home. He was born Dec. 19, 1916, in San Francisco, to Saverio and Sarah Saia Serio.
He married Mary Madeline Fields in 1939 in San Francisco.
Mr. Serio worked as a warehouseman for Hills Brothers Coffee and for United Engine and Machine Company of Carson City. He enjoyed woodworking and workshop projects.
Among his survivors are his wife, of Carson City; sons Richard Samual of Carson City and Robert Thomas of San Bruno, Calif.; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Hospice.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
