Golf tourney benefits Boys & Girls Club

Organizers of the American Century Championship have increased their annual charity contribution to the Boys & Girls Club of Lake Tahoe with a fund-raising partnership with the club.

The American Century Championship is July 13-18 at Edgewood Tahoe. American Century has given 1,000 tickets to the Boys & Girls Club to be sold or $10, with all proceeds going to the club.

Tickets can be exchanged at the entrance gate Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday of tournament week for admission.

Tickets will be at outlets through July 9. Tickets are on sale at Alpen Sierra Coffee House, Shehadi Motors, Lakeside Inn & Casino, Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course, Lake Tahoe Golf Shop and South Lake Tahoe and Tahoe Douglas chambers of commerce.

The American Century Championship player list traditionally includes sports and entertainment legends such as Michael Jordan, John Elway, Charles Barkley, Johnny Bench, Jerry Rice, Mark McGwire, Pete Sampras, Dennis Quaid. Donald Trump, Peyton Manning, Nick Lachey and Carson Palmer.

Club tickets are valid during the first three of tournament week, when autograph collecting and photographs are encouraged.
