Carson City's Matt Scherer and Jonathan Singer and Minden's Devyn Hotho helped the High Sierra Wild Pee Wee team pull off a split against the high-powered Oakland Bears in NORCAL youth ice hockey action over the weekend at the South Lake Tahoe Ice Arena.

Less than a minute after the Bears tied the score 2-2 in the second period, Cooper Stanley picked up a loose puck in the neutral zone, weaved his way through the Oakland defense and fired the puck into the upper right-hand corner of the net to give the Wild a 3-2 lead.
Stanley later scored again, placing the puck into the upper left-hand corner of the net to make it 4-2. The Wild was outshot 40-21, but Singer helped lead a solid defensive effort.
