Lorene Evelyn Luke, 82, a Carson City resident for the past year, died March 17, 2004, in Reno. She was born July 10, 1921, in Bethany Township, Kan., to Edwin and Pearl Gosney.
She married Julius William Luke on July 10, 1949, in Quincy, Ill. He preceded her in death June 27, 1988, in Wilmington, Calif.
Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Topaz.
Mrs. Luke worked for the Veterans Administration for 15 years. She was a tap dancer and waitress.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by sister, Pauline and brother, Alva.
Among her survivors are her children Judy Coffron of Topaz, Sandi Rustan of Walker, Calif., and Cheryl Wolfe of Hampton, Ore.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Her ashes will be taken by Coast Guard cutter to Ilwaco, Wash. Services and eulogy will be given by the Rev. Keith Mendenhall of Warrenton, Ore., and her grandson Steven Selders of Astoria, Ore.
John Sparks Memorial Cremation and Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
