Bernard E. "Bud" Ryan, 76, a Dayton resident for the past 13 years, died March 24, 2004, at his home of cancer. He was born Nov. 16, 1927, in Mason City, Iowa, to Bernard E. Sr. and Florence Green Ryan.
Before moving to Dayton, he lived in Lakewood, Calif.
Mr. Ryan was a 51-year member of Local 11, District 2 of Southern California IBEW as an industrial electrician. He enjoyed hiking, gold panning, fishing, camping, boxing and horse racing.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his niece Cheryl Beck and dog Zip.
Among his survivors are his wife Joanne of Dayton; stepmother Joyce Ryan of Orangevale, Calif.; son and daughter-in-law Barry and Donna of Fontana, Calif.; niece Tacey Derenzy of Sacramento; sister and brother-in-law Mary and Marlo Van Kirk of Reno; sister Betty Olson of Orangevale, Calif., and many nieces and nephews.
At his request, no service will be held. His ashes will be buried at sea in Southern California.

Capitol City Cremation & Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
