Keston Denny of the Carson-Douglas Rodeo Club won Friday's go-round in steer wrestling in a Nevada State High School Rodeo hosted by Lincoln County.
Denny, a Douglas High junior, posted an outstanding time of 5.75 seconds to win the event. Also for the Carson-Douglas club, Galena senior Aaron Heberger took fourth in a solid time of 8.48 seconds.
Also on Friday, Carson High's Alyce Kugler took sixth in girls cutting with a score of 71.5. On Saturday, Denny placed fourth in steer wrestling and Douglas High's Paul Mannelly was third in bull riding with a score of 60. In addition, Kugler took fifth in cutting with a score of 71.5.
