Archie L. Gioia, 95, a Dayton resident for the past five years, died Nov. 15, 2004, in Dayton. He was born July 29, 1909, in New York City.
Mr. Gioia was a classical violinist who played during the Big Band era. He often played with Liberace. He was a member of the Musicians Union and American Legion Post 13 of Hot Springs, Ark.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida; daughter, Ruth Burroughs and great-granddaughter, Laurie Lyn Forsell.
Among his survivors are his granddaughter, Barbara Dyer of Dayton; great-granddaughter, Michelle Mills of Carson City and four great-great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Hot Springs, Ark.
