David A. Towers, 72, a Carson City resident, died Nov. 26, 2004, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born Dec. 17, 1931, in Riverside, Calif., to Herman and Gladys Barrett Towers.
He grew up in Riverside, Calif., and graduated from Polytechnic High School in 1949.
Mr. Towers retired from AT&T after 30-plus years, then resumed work after a brief time, retiring again from the county of Riverside. He enjoyed stamp collecting, traveling and playing blackjack and Texas Hold'em.
He served in the U.S. Army for three years.
He was preceded in death by his sisters Jean Marie Towers and Barbara Towers Whitmore; brother, Donald; son James Allison; and wives Mary Ellen Smith and Doreen Deloris Savage.
Among his survivors are his children Brenda, John, Robin, Jane, Debbie, Kim, Lori and Fred; brother, Dale of Seattle, Wash.; sister, Betty Goldstein of Gardnerville; 26 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A private family celebration will be at a later date.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
