Western Nevada Community College will take another step toward putting its inaugural women's soccer program on the field on Friday afternoon when coach Hillary Arthur introduces her first recruiting class.
A ceremony for the official soccer letter signings will be held at 3 p.m. in the Dini Building on WNCC's Carson City campus. The public is invited to attend the event.
Nine high school seniors from Nevada and one from Southern California have given verbal commitments, including Dayton High's Kristel Thompson and Sabrina Cantrell. Others who are scheduled to sign are Rachelle Goulet, Phalon Mauntel, Dominique Gloude and Maritza Espinoza from Silverado High in Las Vegas, Demi Vega from Palo Verde High in Las Vegas, Lisa Berryman from North Valleys High in Reno, Jessica Laca from Fallon and Cynthia Castillo of Quartz Hill High in Quartz Hill, Calif.
WNCC will begin play this fall.
