A memorial service for Billy Keith Hyde, 75, a Carson City resident for the past eight years, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, at FitzHenry's Funeral Chapel.
Mr. Hyde died March 8, 2005, in Reno. He was born July 10, 1929, in Liberal, Kan., to William Paul and Anna Estelle Lyden Hyde.
He married Willie Bell Hyde July 18, 1949, in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Mr. Hyde served in the U.S. Navy for 30 years. He was a harbor pilot throughout the world. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, a 32nd Degree Mason and received the Bronze Star in Vietnam. He was a volunteer firefighter with the Jacks Valley Fire Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Among his survivors are his wife; son, Paul Keith Hyde of Stateline; daughter, Barbara Ann Garner of Lemoore, Calif.; brother, Leland Michael Hyde; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one niece and one nephew.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
