A report of a sexual assault led to the arrest of a Fallon woman on charges of battery with a deadly weapon and domestic violence Saturday.

Fallon police are investigating an alleged report from a woman who told detectives she was restrained and assaulted in a room at the Overland Hotel between Thursday and Saturday, when she reportedly escaped.

Assistant Police Chief Ray Dolan said the alleged victim, who is not being identified to protect her identity, alleged that Karen Leann Ney abused her.

"It is alleged that she kept her against her will, tied her up, and repeatedly sexually assaulted her and threatened her with a knife," he said.

After an initial investigation, Ney, 37, was arrested and booked into the Churchill County Jail where bail was set at $8,132. She is accused of domestic battery, battery and battery with a deadly weapon.

Dolan said after the alleged victim escaped, she went to her parent's house, and they called Domestic Violence Intervention. The organization reported the allegations to police and took the woman to the hospital for an examination.

"She was injured," Dolan said.

Police submitted the sexual assault report to the Churchill County district attorney Monday to determine if additional charges will be filed against Ney.

Dolan said detectives continue investigating by interviewing several more people.

"There's possibly one other person involved, another female," he said Monday afternoon.

He said Ney and the victim had been living together for about five years. They moved to Fallon from Arizona in November, and had been staying at the Overland for about a month, according to Dolan.

Dolan didn't have details on the victim's age. He said the woman chose to use a pseudonym, and her file is privy to only the officers working on the case.

Dolan said he didn't have access to the information because of Nevada law that allows those types of cases be kept in a separate, sealed file.
