Keeping on top of the latest fashions for men and women will be made a little easier thanks to the "Fun with Fashions" show and luncheon Sunday at the Carson City Senior Citizens Center.
Business casual, business office and spring and summertime casual wear from Gottschalks will be modeled by more than a dozen volunteers.
"I think we're ready, and we are excited about this," said Barbara Hancock, committee chairwoman. "We went over the menu Wednesday to be sure the food selection is what we want to offer. And that it looks good on the plate when served."
Included with the $10 price is a lunch of fresh ham, turkey and roast-beef finger sandwiches, salad, vegetables and home-baked cookies and brownies.
Members of the committee have collected more than 30 door prizes. Raffle tickets will also be sold for 12 items, including gift certificates to Duke's Steakhouse at the Casino Fandango and to Adele's.
Raffle tickets are $1 each, or six for $5. You must be present to win a door prize or raffle item.
"And there will be no admission tickets to the fashion show and luncheon sold at the door," said committee member Betty Reece. "Tickets must be paid for in advance in the finance office at the senior center by Thursday."
"They can also buy and pay for their ticket at the Gift Shop," Hancock said.
The ticket cost of the event is tax deductible because the money goes to senior services at the center, a nonprofit organization.
Members of the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps will serve the luncheon.
Wine will be available for those age 21 and older.
