Carson High graduate Tim Priess has helped York College of Nebraska, an NAIA school, to one of its winningest season ever.

Priess, a 2002 CHS graduate and a junior, picked up his eighth win of the year in a complete game effort in an 8-6 win over Central Christian on Tuesday. Priess struck out nine in the game.

He's 8-3 with two saves on the year. York is 36-19 on the year and has already eclipsed the school record for wins in a season at 31. York has a four game series this weekend with Newman of Wichita, Kan., before heading to the Midland Collegiate Athletic Conference postseason tournament. York has qualified for the MCAC tournament for the first time in four years.

Priess is scheduled to start the first game of the regular season ending doubleheader against Newman on Saturday. Among the teams to beat in the MCAC tournament will be Bellevue, which is ranked No. 4 in the nation.
