A memorial service for Billy Ray Marriott, 66, a Wellington resident for the past 48 years, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Yerington Vineyard Fellowship Church, 307 Broadway Ave., Yerington.
Mr. Marriott died Aug. 14, 2005, in Wellington. He was born Sept. 22, 1938, in Denver, Ark., to William C. and Edna Jones Marriott.
He married Kay Cooper in 1960.
Mr. Marriott was a rancher for many years and a retired heavy-equipment operator for Lyon County. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, camping and riding his quad.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Carlis and Walter.
Among his survivors are his wife; children Carlray Marriott of Campo Verde, Ariz., and Jerri Kirk and Kristina Homan, both of Yerington; sisters Lula Braswell of Oak Grove, Ark., and Linda Matlock of Tulsa, Okla.; brothers Lonnie and Jack of Yerington and Arlis of Boise, Idaho; nine grandchildren and numerous extended family members.
Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery.
Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
