Jon Emmett Miller, 60, a Minden resident for the past 30 years, died Dec. 9, 2005, at his home. He was born Nov. 10, 1945, in Reno to Joseph and Betty Jean Starbuck Miller.
He married Sharon Miller in 1982, in Minden.
Mr. Miller was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He restored older model cars and built race cars.
He was a mechanic on the first team to take five cars simultaneously to a NASCAR race. He was a member of the National Rifle Association.
Among his survivors are his wife; son Darryl of Minden; son and daughter-in-law Roger and Breanne of Sonora, Calif.; daughter, Stephanie Miller of Carson City; sister, Sandy Von Bima of San Rafael, Calif.; brother, Richard of Novato, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
Walton's Douglas County Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
