Brittany Cotter and Holden Sapp continued with their blazing seasons, leading the Douglas ski team to a fourth-place finish at a Tahoe Basin Ski League giant slalom event at Alpine Meadows Friday.
Cotter, a freshman, took third in the girls' bracket by posting two solid times on the course of 37.54 and 39.28.
"Brittany is phenomenal in the G.S.," Douglas coach Bob Bytheway said. "She reads the course really well and carries a lot of momentum from the start through the finish."
Sapp finished second in the boys' race, recovering from a fourth-place finish on the first run at 35.69 seconds to post a 37.30, the second-fastest time of the second run to jump up to second overall.
"Holden was on fire today," Bytheway said. "His line was clean and fast."
Keston Denny took 19th on the boys' side with a combined time of 1:24.20 on the day, while Brady Haws took 22nd and Travis Johnson finished 23rd.
On the girls' side, Avery Carrig took 20th, Lauren Martin finished 26th and Jennifer Stice finished 27th.
Douglas is tied for third overall on the season with South Tahoe at 17 points.
North Tahoe leads the league with 30 points and Truckee has 25.
