George W. Jackson, 72, a Dayton resident for the past 12 years, died Feb. 20, 2005, at home. He was born Feb. 15, 1933, in Hockerville, Okla., to Clifton and Della Bunce Jackson.
Before moving to Dayton, he lived in Riverbank, Calif.
He married Berna Hudgens Jan. 25, 1953, in Baxter Springs, Kan.
Mr. Jackson worked as a miner and a truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his family.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his son Michael, in 2000.
Among his survivors are his wife of Dayton; sons Clifton Jackson of Spring Creek, Robert Jackson of Ceres, Calif., Steven Jackson of Mattituck, N.Y., and Patrick Kirk of Continental Divide, N.M.; daughter, Denise Costa of Modesto, Calif.; brother, Melvin of Grants, N.M.; 20 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
