Murder charges filed after Fernley senior's death

FERNLEY " A Fernley man was arrested Wednesday on murder charges after a 72-year-old man was found dead in a home, according to police.

Scott Lecoque was arrested with a no-bail hold on a charge of "open homicide" in the killing of a man found dead in a home at 223 Mary Lou Lane, according to Lt. John Arndell of the Lyon County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies responded to the Fernley address on a 2 p.m. report of a possible homicide. They found the victim dead from what "appears to be blunt-force trauma." His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
