Clara M. (Love) Balmer, 85, a Nampa, Idaho, resident for the past four years, died July 16, 2005, at her home. She was born July 30, 1919, in Mountain Home, Idaho, on the Love Ranch, to William and Lizzie Love.
She graduated from Mountain Home High School in 1936 and attended business college in Seattle from which she graduated in 1938.
She married Robert Balmer on April 13, 1946, and they moved to Carson City where they were involved in the gaming industry until their retirement in 1982. She worked for the Nevada State Legislature from 1985 to 1991. She enjoyed golf and travel with the Carson City Senior Center. She was a member of the Nampa Seventh-day Adventist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband in November 2003.
Among her survivors are her daughters Karel Knigge-Casebeer and Joann Burnsed, both of Nampa; grandchildren Randy Knigge of Caldwell, Idaho, Don Knigge and Jim Knigge, both of Nampa, Ken Knigge of Brentwood, Calif., and Karen Davis of Payette, Idaho; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be at a later date.
