A memorial service for Chris Rasmussen, 48, a Carson City resident for 31 years, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.
Mr. Rasmussen died July 20, 2005, in Carson City. He was born on Aug. 24, 1956, in Yerington to Leo Wesley and Mary Ruth Rasmussen.
He was active with Ducks Unlimited and enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his Harley Davidson.
Mr. Rasmussen worked at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center as a correctional officer. He was also the firing range master and assisted with canine training before retiring in 2001.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1970.
Among his survivors are his mother; sisters and brothers-in-law Meredith and John Mayeroff of Reno, and Heidi Rasmussen and Dale Spencer of Carson City; brother, Eric, of Carson City; nephews Jason and Matthew Mayeroff and Justus Jackson, niece, Gina Rasmussen, and great-niece, Claire Wright.
Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
