A Shurz man has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to aggravated sexual abuse.
The case was handled by federal prosecutors because the crime occurred on the Walker River Indian Reservation and Michael Eugene Davis, 45, is a member of the Paiute tribe.
After his sentence is completed, Davis faces lifetime supervision as a convicted sex offender.
He was indicted by a federal grand jury four days after the March assault on a 19-year-old woman. He has been in custody since the assault.
