Arson investigators hope a woman who had a flat tire on Spooner Summit the day a fire started June 20 can help with their investigation.
Sgt. Bob White of the Carson City Sheriff's Department said detectives would like to talk to the unidentified woman who had a passerby help her change a flat tire between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
The woman was wearing a back brace and had her white Pontiac Grand Am-type vehicle stopped on the eastbound shoulder.
"She's by no means a suspect, she's a witness," White said.
Eleven wildland fires in the Carson City area within the past two weeks have officials thinking someone is intentionally setting them.
White said some of the fires have unique similarities investigators have been able to pinpoint. He declined to reveal specifics.
