A California man lodged his motorhome between a power pole and a stop light Friday after his brakes allegedly failed.
Trooper Nick Nordyke said Alan Fellows, 57, of Sacramento, drove up onto the sidewalk at the corner of Winnie Lane and North Carson Street to avoid colliding with cars in front of him around 1 p.m.
The 34-foot motorhome, pulling a truck on a trailer, stopped when it became stuck between the power pole and the traffic signal. The impact ripped the passenger door open and tore the crosswalk signal from the pole.
Nordyke said the motorhome would have to be tested to determine if there was a brake failure.
He noted there were no skidmarks to indicate Fellows' brakes worked or that he used them.
No one was injured in the accident.
Nordyke said alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
