A funeral for Dorothy Rose Mockler Humm, 92, a Carson City resident for the past 12 years, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at FitzHenry's Chapel of Faith.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Humm died March 26, 2005, at Evergreen Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Sept. 25, 1912, in St. Louis, Mo., to William and Mary Elizabeth Cummins Mockler.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Tracy, Calif.

Mrs. Humm retired from Catalina Mills. She was an avid writer and contributed to local newspapers. She enjoyed dancing. She was active in the Catholic Church and taught catechism.

She was preceded in death by her son George in 1932; and her husband of 59 years, Edmond, in 1988.

Among her survivors are her daughters Elizabeth Humm of Carson City and Georgia Brock of Las Vegas; son Edmond of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; daughter-in-law, Dolores Humm; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Burial will be at Lone Mountain Cemetery.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
