Gas company offers free seminar for diversity contractors
The Supplier Diversity Department at Southwest Gas will conduct a free seminar for minority, women and disabled veteran business enterprises interested in doing business with the company. The seminar will be from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday at Southwest's Carson City office, 400 Eagle Station Lane.

Elks dinner to benefit veterans' meals
The Carson City Elks are holding a veterans' benefit dinner beginning at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Elks Lodge, 515 N. Nevada St.
Dinner is $5 per person or free for card-carrying veterans and veterans in uniform. The menu is spaghetti, garlic bread and salad.
Proceeds will go to the Meals on Wheels program for Senior Veterans.

Meeting has details of 4-H ski/board club
An orientation meeting for the Cooperative Extension's Douglas County 4-H Ski/Board Club will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday at the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension office in Gardnerville, 1329 Waterloo Lane.
Come by to see if you are interested in the program that meets every other Sunday for a trip to Kirkwood.
A limited number of slots are available.
Program includes special rates for lift tickets, rentals, lessons and packages.
The first trip will be Nov. 20, with trips continuing every other Sunday through April. Helmets are mandatory. Parents are responsible for their children and transportation.

The 4-H clubs are youth development and leadership programs of University of Nevada Cooperative Extension.
Support group for those caring for dementia patients meets Thursday
The Dementia Caregiver's Support Group will be meet at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Douglas County Senior Center in Gardnerville to discuss and help those who need assistance with caring for dementia patients or family members with dementia.
