According to a recent press release by the Nevada Department of Wildlife, (NDOW), game wardens concluded an investigation into illegal baiting of dove in the Fallon Area that led to fines and citations for four men from the Reno area.

Rod Sanders, 58, Harold Zink, 56, Doug Drake, 52, and Chad Kaufman, 31, all from the Reno area, pled guilty in New River Justice Court to illegally hunting mourning dove in a baited area. Three of the men were fined more than $800 and one man was fined more than $150.

Baiting, according to state law, is using food or other substances to illegally attract birds. In this case, cracked corn and birdseed was spread over the hunting area to attract doves.
