Gerald Patrick Tunney, 82, a Gardnerville resident for the past five years, died Nov. 15, 2005, in Carson Valley. He was born Nov. 7, 1923, in Saint Maries, Idaho, to Michael and Helen.
He graduated from the University of Idaho in Saint Maries.
He married Dixie Lee Laurance on Oct. 16, 1954.
Before moving to Gardnerville, he lived in Byron, Calif.
Mr. Tunney was an attorney. His hobbies included music, boating and RV travel.
He was a member of the California State Bar Association and the Carson Valley Symphony.
He was preceded in death by his wife; sister Muriel Innes and daughter Dixie Lee Mederos.
Among his survivors are his son, Robert E. of Wellington; daughter Diana L. Cannon of Santa Cruz, Calif.; sisters Janet Stubbsjoen and Mickey Tralle; grandchildren Robert Tunney Jr., Pamela Thomas, Christan Cannon, Whitney Cannon, Amy Cannon, Adam Cannon, Rocco Chicarilli and Tony Chicarilli; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Capitol City Cremation & Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
