A memorial service for Lois "Sandy" Edwards, 67, a longtime Carson City resident, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
Mrs. Edwards died Sept. 13, 2005, in Carson City.
She was born June 12, 1938, in Cleveland to Philip and Helen Lear Mobley.
She was raised in Tucson, Ariz., and graduated from Tucson High School in 1956.
She married George Abrego Edwards in 1976. He preceded her in death in 1982.
Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Yerington.
Mrs. Edwards worked for the state of Nevada and retired from the Division of Water Resources as office manager in 1994.
She was active in Little League, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4-H and Future Homemakers. She was an active member of SNEA, the Central Committee, Women's Democratic Club and RPEN. She was a volunteer for Eagle Valley Children Home and RSVP, the Fourth of July and Nevada Day Parade committees and the annual library jogathon. She was a charter member of the Professional Secretaries Association and Carson City Toastmistresses. She was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi. She was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church.
She enjoyed her family and working in her flower garden.
Among her survivors are her parents; sisters Patricia Schriefer and Karen Gonzales; children Debbie and husband Tim Anderson of Loomis, Calif., Gary and wife Beth Mathews of Carson City, Anita and husband Brad Marcy of Sparks and Duane and wife Jo Mathews of Yerington; grandchildren Neal, Justin and Carly Mathews, Alex and April Marcy, Matt, Josh and Katie Mathews and Zachary Anderson; and one great-grandchild.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
