James P. Roach, 71, a Carson City resident for the past 30 years, died Sept. 24, 2005, in Carson City.
He was born Sept. 23, 1934, in Providence, R.I., to Richard and Irene Cunningham Roach.
He married Eleanor Murphy on Aug. 26, 1955, in Providence. She preceded him in death in 1982.
He attended high school and military schools and received an Associate of Arts degree in criminal science.
Mr. Roach was a career military man and traveled all over the world.
He retired from the U.S. Army as a master sergeant after 20 years.
He was a member of the American Legion.
He was a Catholic and he was a pilot.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister.
Among his survivors are wife Susan of Carson City; sons Michael of Eugene, Ore., and James and wife, Michelle, of Dayton; daughters Sharon Roach of Carson City and Paula Roach of Jackson, Calif.; one sister; two brothers; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several extended family members.
Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.
A private family service will be held.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
