The winners of Western Nevada Community College"s annual recycle arts contest were announced at a reception Thursday night.
The show will be displayed in the gallery of the Bristlecone Building College through Tuesday.
More than 50 pieces were entered.
• Best of Show ($100 award): "Dog of Poseidon" by Dennis Lufrano
• Most Creative: first place ($75), "Catch and Release" by Robert Murray; second place ($50), "Scrap Toad" by Arne Martin and third place ($25), "The Carship Enterprise" by Ron Fritcher
• Most Useful: first place ($75), "Capri Sun-Dress" by Lauren Easby; second ($50) "Purse-Sueing Recycling" by Slim Sirnes and third ($25), "Gear Driven" by John Septien
• Honorable Mentions: "Running Bird" by Arne Martin; "Horseshoe Fish" by Jeff Cuthbert; "Mr. Andre" by Kathleen Durham and "Walk the Line" by John Septien, "Texas Ranger" by Tim Cook
• Honorable Mentions, Aesthetic Excellence: "Endangered Space" by Paul Ford; "Menage" by Mary Ford-Germano and "Precious Time" by Paula Buchanan
• Special Honorable Mention, E for Effort Youth Award: "Three Exhaust Pipe Tractor" by Jordan Cruz Riley
