Kyle Stone and Matt Rutledge combined on the shutout as the Carson High junior varsity baseball team finished off a sweep against South Tahoe on Saturday.
Carson won the opener 9-4 and the nightcap 3-0. In the nightcap, Stone scattered six hits over five innings while walking one. Rutledge struck out two and allowed a hit over the last two innings.
Cody Barr was 2-for-3, Paul Cagle had a hit and Nate Reno belted a two-run home run.
In the opener, David Eller was the winning pitcher, allowing two runs on four hits through four innings. Rutledge struck out four over the last three innings.
Cody Bone was 3-for-3, Barr hit a two-run homer and Brett Valley, Tom Preston, Rutledge and Drew Good all had two hits.
