Robert "Bob" Nathan Pearce, 78, a Goldfield resident died April 19, 2006, in Bishop, Calif., after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Pearce was born Nov. 27, 1927, in Ottawa, Kan., to Harold and Eva Norwood Pearce.

His family moved to Hawthorne in 1941. He worked on several ranches as a cowboy.

In 1947 he went to work for Las Vegas-Tonopah-Reno Stage Lines and worked with them more than 20 years. He later worked at the Mercury Test Site and the Tonopah Test Range. He retired from the Tonopah Test Range in 1990. He was a Teamster.

He enjoyed working as a cowboy and horses.

He was preceded in death by a daughter Jane.

Among his survivors are his wife, Barbara Pearce of Goldfield; sons and daughters-in-law Bob Jr. and Barbara of Las Vegas and Bill and Shirl of Gray, Tenn.; daughter and son-in-law Julie and Tom Lockett of Bergman, Ark.; sister Donna Traver of Reno; brothers Leon Pearce of Silver City, N.M., and Lonnie Pearce of Yerington; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held in Goldfield at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
