Carson City's Aron Harvey concluded a successful summer - which included winning a national title - with a third place finish on Saturday at the American Motorcycle Association Amateur National Motocross Championships at the Loretta Lynn's complex in Tennessee.

Harvey, a 2005 Carson High graduate, finished fifth in his third and final moto in the 250 Open B Modified Class to take third overall. He took third and fourth in his first two motos.

Trey Canard of Elk City, Okla., took first by winning all three motos and Chris Johnson of Brush Prairie, Wash., was second. With his third place finish, Harvey will now have to advance to the professional ranks.

Harvey also finished much stronger in the 125 B Stock Class. After 16th and 19th place finishes in his first two motos, Harvey took fourth in his final moto to place 10th overall.

Last month at the National Motorsports Assocation's Grand National Motocross Championships, Harvey won the overall title in the 250 Stock Intermediate Class.
