Henry Edsel Lewallen, 79, a 33-year Carson City resident, died Aug. 6, 2006, at home.
He was born March 3, 1927, in Jonesboro, Ark., to Worley Louis Lewallen and Grace M. Blair.
He married Joyce on July 6, 1973, in Carson City.
Before moving to Carson City, Mr. Lewallen lived at South Lake Tahoe from 1963 to 1973.
He graduated from high school in Tucson, Ariz.
He was a mechanic.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his son Byron Lewallen; by daughter and son-in-law Beverly and Robert Harger, granddaughter Christy Harger and brothers W.L. and Thomas Lewallen.
Among his survivors are his wife of 33 years of Carson City; son Bryce Lewallen of Bend, Ore.; stepdaughters Kathleen Ray of Ridgecrest, Calif., and Christine Vandevort of Redmond, Wash.; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and numerous extended-family members.
At his request, no services will be held.
Memorial donations may be made to the Carson City Humane Society.
Capitol City Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
