Carson woman arrested in steak-knife attack on husband

A Carson City woman was in custody on Wednesday, charged with twice stabbing her husband when he refused to go to the store to buy her more hair dye.

Cheron Schoeppler, 33, a house painter and cleaner, was booked into the Carson City Jail on suspicion of felony domestic battery with the use of a deadly weapon.

According to the arrest report, Schoeppler and her husband were at home in the 2400 block of North Carson Street on Monday about 1 p.m. when she asked him to go to Rite Aid to buy her more hair dye after she found the dye she'd used wasn't enough.

When the husband said no, Schoeppler allegedly began screaming, knocked over a television, threw a frying pan at him, and chased him out the front door of the apartment with a serrated steak knife.

The victim told police Schoeppler stabbed him in the shoulder when he ran onto the balcony, and she stabbed him a second time when he reached the stairway, according to the report.

Both of the wounds were described as superficial.

Schoeppler was not at home when the report was filed. On Tuesday, she was contacted by a deputy at her apartment at 3:52 p.m. and arrested.

She is being held on $30,000 bond. Schoeppler will appear in court on Sept. 6.
